Counselling can help people who need to talk through their issues and problems in a formal, professional and confidential setting. It is important to stress that counselling is not the best way to deal with an immediate crisis. Crises can be more appropriately dealt with by the support by alternative services.

DRCS is not an emergency service and we advise that people in crisis to call your, NHS Direct on 0845 4647,  the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 or Derbyshire Focusline on 0800 027 2127 (Helpline).
 Does counselling help?
Over the last 12 months. we have used outcome measures to assess how effective DRCS counselling is for people suffering from anxiety and/or depression. People who have had counselling at DRCS have been asked to score themselves before, after and during their treatment. It is now very, very clear that DRCS counselling helps people recover from these two common problems, which affect about one-in-four of the UKs population.

 Self help

Sometimes understanding a problem can make it easier to deal with. The most common issues that people bring to counselling include: Anxiety, Depression, Panic and Stress.

Client Survey
The NHS is undergoing a major restructuring and this WILL effect how DRCS is funded. We are currently looking at the changes and would like client's and any person interested in commenting, to give us some feedback. This will only take a couple of minutes and will help DRCS provide an even better service to you!
